Broughton Grange is set overlooking a beautiful Oxfordshire valley. Its history dates back to 1620 initially as a small farm cottage associated with the Saye and Sele estate at neighbouring Broughton Castle. The site was developed overtime into an estate in its own right. The Morrell family owned it for some 200 years until purchased by the present owners in 1992. Broughton Grange is set in over 400 acres of parkland, farmland and open meadow, with parkland planting that owes its origins to the Victorian era.
Sulgrave Manor, the home of George Washington’s English ancestors houses an accredited museum collection and is open to the public during our open Season from April to September. Within the Manor we share stories about Sulgrave Manor and its owners.
In 2021 we are delighted to have opened two brand new exhibitions, George Washington: Life and Legacy and Sulgrave Stories, and opened our brand new tea room. We hold a number of public events throughout the year and our children’s holiday activities are always great fun.

Hook Norton Brewery Co Ltd
Brewing since 1849, we are the largest independent brewer in Oxfordshire, producing a wide range of award winning ales, stouts and lager from our 5-storey Victorian Tower Brewery.

We run brewery tours 7 days a week where you will be guided around the brewery experiencing the sights, sounds and smells of brewing the Hooky way. You’ll also meet our resident Shire Horses who we still use to deliver beer the traditional way to our pubs.
Brewery Shop & Restaurant
Our brewery shop is open daily selling our full range of bottled beer, lager, ciders, wines, spirits, clothing, merchandise, food and gifts. Our Malthouse Kitchen restaurant is open daily serving a breakfast, lunch and afternoon tea menu. We have several meeting and event spaces available to hire for meetings, conferences and private parties. We are also licensed for Weddings.
Broughton Castle is a moated and fortified manor house near Banbury in North Oxfordshire and the family home of the 21st Lord and Lady Saye & Sele, whose family name is Fiennes. The ownership of the Castle has remained in the same family since 1447.
The core of the house was built in 1306 and the gatehouse in the early fifteenth century, but most of what you see today dates from the 1550’s. It was a centre of opposition to Charles I and was besieged and damaged after the Battle of Edgehill in 1642.
Upton House and Gardens, the country house and weekend retreat, where 2nd Viscount Bearsted, Walter Samuel, created one of the finest art collections in twentieth-century England.
Immerse yourself in a remarkable range of world-class paintings, from Stubbs and Hogarth to Bosch and El Greco. See how Lord Bearsted furnished every spare inch with his pictures and eighteenth-century English and French porcelain.
Outdoors you can stroll through Lady Bearsted’s gardens, designed by the pioneering Kitty Lloyd Jones, and find your own sense of leisure, peace and beauty that we continue to nurture.
More than just a garden centre providing something for everyone for a great day out. You will find an extensive range of herb plants to delight the chef, intrigue the gardener and fascinate anyone with an interest in herbal remedies or alternative medicine. Surrounded by more than 125 acres of farmland and woods, visitors can enjoy a walk along one of the trails, browse the shop with its eclectic mix of gifts, garden ornaments, summer and autumn grown seasonal produce, pet toys and treats, bird seed and much, much more.
With a children’s play area and Café Bistro for a drink and a bite to eat whilst taking in the mesmerising, far-reaching views across the countryside.
