We are delighted to see Banbury’s plans for Festive Fun promoted in the Experience Oxfordshire November 2021 Newsletter.
Featuring the Festive Lantern Parade & Festive Light Show Switch on Event, Live Reindeer and the Giant Snow Globe.
The digital newsletter links to the Experience Banbury website giving the town extensive visibility to people planning to visit Oxfordshire or people within the county looking for things to do in the run up to and throughout the festive season.
Welcome Back Fund – Out of Home Advertising
We are delighted to have been given the opportunity to secure a substantial grant from the Welcome Back Fund Government initiative with support from Cherwell District Council.
An £18,000 promotional campaign will run throughout November and December 2021 to drive more visitors to Banbury and give a boost to the town centre economy. Banbury’s venues and attractions will be advertised in towns and cities within a 50-mile radius of the town
The project will promote Banbury, its shops, hospitality venues and attractions on billboards at selected train stations, supermarkets, and bus routes to and from the surrounding area will be used to promote Banbury’s highlights and special events and raise awareness of the town’s visitor information website experiencebanbury.co.uk
As part of our continued marketing & advertising strategy we are delighted to share our latest advert in the October and November editions of The Villager.
The Villager is a monthly publication with 11,000 copies distributed to 48 villages ranging from Appletree, Byfield, Lower Boddington, Wardington and Woodford Halse to name but a few, and is produced by The E-Type Press Limited in Wardington.
This is one of many adverts we have scheduled to drive footfall into Banbury Town centre.

BID Support Banbury FM Digital Licence
We are delighted to support Banbury FM with their application for a Small-Scale Digital Radio Multiplex License.
Having worked extensively with local media to showcase upcoming events, generate interest in proposed schemes, and inform the people of Banbury on issues that are relevant and important to them, we feel that obtaining this license would greatly benefit the community.
Banbury FM have been making an excellent job of serving the needs of the people of Banbury. Working with them is always a rewarding and positive experience, however, to make it truly meaningful for the whole population of Banbury, the granting of a Small-Scale Digital Radio Multiplex License to them is a vital next step.

Age Friendly Banbury / Experience Banbury Doorbells
We are delighted to be working with Age Friendly Banbury to make visiting Banbury an inclusive experience for everyone.
As we head into the Autumn and Winter months many businesses will have their shop doors closed during opening hours simply due to the drop in temperature and unsettled weather.
To ensure that people who require assistance, wishing to enter the businesses and attractions in Banbury Town Centre we are providing Doorbells and a clearly visible plaque so that they can ring for assistance to enter the premises.

Experience Banbury Branded Water Bottles
As The Women’s Tour came to Banbury for Stage one of the race on Monday 4th October the Banbury BID team were there to promote the Experience Banbury website and the fantastic businesses that feature on it!
We were spreading the word and driving people to the new website with our fantastic Experience Banbury branded water bottles and details of our fantastic Women’s Tour competition.
In total we gave out 800 water bottles on the day!
The Women’s Cycle Tour Race & competition Partner
The AJ Bell Women’s Cycle Tour Race is taking place October 4-9th 2021.
We are delighted that the finishing line for stage one of the race will be on South Bar Street in Banbury on Monday 4th October and we’ll be there to cheer them on.
We are supporting the event with Experience Banbury giveaways and a fantastic Women’s Tour competition to win a Broadribb Cycles Banbury voucher worth £500.

Free Stall Available for Levy Payers at the Food Friday Events in Banbury
Cherwell District Council have reached out to see if any of our Levy Payers, who fit the profile for the Food Fair Friday market, would like to participate.
To ease the process, the BID will pay for the cost for ten stalls on a first come first served basis. This will apply to all dates listed below.
Dates: 13th & 27th August and 10th & 24th September 2021
Time: 9am – 4.30pm in Banbury Market Place
Details of the trading stand: 3m x 3m pitch traditional Market Stall or Gazebo will be set-up on arrival. Electricity is available.
(All traders will need to agree to & sign Banbury Markets’ Terms & Conditions and have up to date Public Liability Insurance & Food Hygiene Certificate/registration)

We are delighted to be working with Age Friendly Banbury and Partners from Visit Banbury Community Interest Company and Cherwell District Council to make Banbury an age-friendly town. It brings together older people, community leaders, local charities, businesses, and local councils.
Working with the Banbury Town Council to create opportunities to brighten the town and improve habitat for pollinating insects, we are delighted to offer businesses in Banbury Town centre the opportunity to purchase these colourful planters.
Decorated with the Banbury sunshine logo and pre-planted with a seasonal flower selection to celebrate Banbury “The Sunshine Town” while simultaneously improving the environment and putting a smile on customers faces.
Chiltern Railways Campaign
We are delighted to announce the launch of the Banbury generic advert which has now gone live in on the London to Birmingham MK3 Trains. The advert will also feature in other locations in the coming weeks and months to encourage visitors to the town, from both local and surrounding areas as well as further afield.
We are extremely fortunate to have this fantastic opportunity working in partnership with Chiltern Railways to promote Banbury as a must visit tourist destination in the UK.
There are more exciting initiatives like this to look forward to as we continue to spread the Banbury Sunshine!
Stagecoach Bus Campaign
Look out for the new Banbury Adverts which will be featured on 34 buses travelling around Oxfordshire, one of the many initiatives to encourage visitors to our town.
There are more projects in the pipeline including news and radio interviews, external bus advertising and online promotions.
We are thrilled to be working with Stagecoach bus company and would like to thank them for their support.
Banbury Street Art Campaign
We are excited about the prospect of working with Activate Learning and A Level art students from the Banbury and Bicester College on this community project.
This will be a fantastic opportunity for 18-19 year olds to carry out some work experience and help us create some beautiful artwork around the town that represents and celebrates Banbury.

Christmas Projects 2021
Discussions are underway to make Christmas in Banbury 2021 the best to date!
There will be plenty to look forward to for the local community and visitors to the town starting in late November, continuing through to the new year. With lots of exciting activities planned, including the lantern parade and Christmas lights switch on, the Banbury light projection, Live Reindeers as well as a snow globe photo booth to get everyone in a festive mood.
We will be promoting Christmas shopping in Banbury Town and Small Business Saturday on 4th December.

We are delighted that Banbury is showcased within the New Oxfordshire Visitor Guide 2021 – a Banbury BID generic town advert and itineraries for the town and area.

The BID Ambassadors Programme
As we work with the BID partners and businesses we look forward to growing the calendar of events in Banbury Town centre and are keen to build a team of ambassadors to assist with BID events in Banbury Town.
The ‘Dine Around’ campaign is to drive sales into the hospitality venues around the town on a designated day. Providing an experience of 13 different cuisines in one town. Venues that are taking part we create a dedicated menu and offers for that evening. More details to come.
We are delighted to be working with Tudor Hall School on an initiative to brighten up Banbury ‘The Sunshine Town’ with plans to paint the town planters.
Advertising Schedule – 50 miles to Banbury
We are excited to be driving plans for an extensive advertising schedule to promote Banbury Town and encourage visitors from the local area and further afield.
Adverts are currently being featured on Chiltern Railways Trains, Stagecoach buses and in the Experience Oxfordshire Travel Guide.
The strategy includes plans to further promote ‘The Sunshine Town’ in magazines, local and national publications, as well as radio and local news.
